Since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, Afghanistan has plummeted into near universal poverty, with over 28.3 million people (two-thirds of Afghanistan’s population) requiring critical humanitarian assistance to survive. ADB has partnered with selected United Nations agencies to support immediate and essential services for the Afghan people.

Join us as we hear from FAO and WFP on the reality of food insecurity and delivery of ADB assistance within the challenging confines of Afghanistan. The event is part of SDCC’s ADB and Fragility webinar series. CWRD and SDCC are collaborating on a series of webinars to raise awareness of the situation in Afghanistan.
