The Fragile and Conflict-Affected States (FCAS) and Small Island Developing State (SIDS) Approach 2022 Annual Report “Cultivating a Differentiated Approach in Fragile Contexts” can now be viewed on its dedicated microsite.
The annual report details ADB’s FCAS and SIDS portfolio and highlights ADB’s work in 2022. Highlights include:
ADB’s fragile and conflicted-affected situations portfolio increased from $9.0 billion at the beginning of 2022 to $9.4 billion by year-end which represents ADB’s largest ever FCAS portfolio, above the $9.0 billion in 2021.
The SIDS portfolio increased by 5%, reaching $3.9 billion as of the end of 2022.
Transport remained the dominant sector in ADB's sovereign portfolio for FCAS-classified countries, followed by energy.
In ADB's sovereign SIDS portfolio, transport was by far the largest sector.
